Inspired by the spirit and style of international sportsmanship, The Kicker Bear Watch Capsule Collection presents Ralph Lauren's iconic mascot playing a game of rugby in countries around the world. This limited-production capsule brings together the traditions of Swiss watchmaking with the colors and flags of nine nations, including the USA, Japan, and France. Each flag is printed on a woven canvas strap, accompanied by lacquered off-white dials printed with the Polo Bear kicking a rugby ball—together capturing the energy and pride evoked by the game.
The Kicker Bear also appears as embroidery and prints on a range of men’s Polo Ralph Lauren apparel styles, from sneakers and Polo shirts to fleece hoodies and cotton chino caps. Originally debuted in 1991, the Polo Bear derives his singular look from Ralph Lauren’s own way of dressing and the signatures of his timeless designs. This collection marks only the second time Ralph Lauren has designed timepieces specific to his Polo brand, again featuring the beloved bear.
The stainless steel round cases measure 42mm by 10.7mm and include an exhibition case back to make fine details visible—including vertical Côtes de Genève stripes and circular graining, known as perlage. The timepieces are powered by an automatic, Swissmade, caliber RL200 movement run at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and features 26 jewels with an approximate 38-hour power reserve.
