Colourful whirlwind of shooting stars - Roger Dubuis
As we approach the end of 2018, Roger Dubuis unveils the Excalibur Single Flying Tourbillon - Shooting Star. These models featuring a feminine design are available in three colours : blue, pink and white.

Roger Dubuis is convinced that women are as keen as men to wear daring and technical calibres. The brand sees woman as someone sensitive to both aesthetics and technology, setting her own goals, writing her own rulebook and standing out from the crowd. Like Roger Dubuis women, shooting stars are oblivious to the rules, which is why they have been chosen to confer a feminine look at the Excalibur Single Flying Tourbillon - Shooting Star. Enriched with alternative techniques, this timepiece is available in a choice of blue, white and pink interpretations, all issued in eight-piece limited editions.

The creation of these watches required two years of research and development in Roger Dubuis’ Geneva workshops to succeed in miniaturising the existing X42 single tourbillon while retaining all of its lightness and airy dimensions. The new RD510SQ Poinçon de Genève-certified calibre is based on an iconic platform and equipped with one of the smallest flying tourbillon skeleton calibers to fit in a dainty 36-mm case. The hand-wound mechanical movement oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vph and has a 60-hour power reserve.

The white and pink versions have a 18K pink gold case welcoming a pink golden skeleton dial, mounted with a diamond-set bezel and a flange set with 10 round diamonds as hour markers. As its name implies, this model features a 18K pink gold shooting star, set with round-cut diamonds and colored enamel stars, shining against a white mother-of-pearl or a pink transluscent varnished background. Hours and minutes hands are also in 18K pink gold. These watches come with an alligator leather strap - respectively white or pink - equipped with a folding clasp.

The blue version is dressed in 18K white gold with matching hands and has an anthracite NAC treated skeleton dial. Just like the other models, this watch features a diamond-set bezel, a flange set with 10 round diamonds as hour markers, coated this time with blue PVD, as well as a 18K white gold shooting star set with round-cut diamonds and colored enamel stars. Finally, the blue alligator leather strap is closed by a folding clasp.

Representing Roger Dubuis astral signature, the stars decorating the dial are also to be found on the case back of this watch dedicated to woman looking for beautiful mechanics.
