The Lange Zeitwerk by A. Lange & Söhne has been awarded “Watch of the Year 2009” by the registered users of the website timezone.com, one of the oldest and most influential web forums dedicated to watches. About 800 watch enthusiasts took part in the poll. More than 300 of them gave their vote to the distinctive timepiece.
This is already the ninth award for the Lange Zeitwerk since it was launched in May 2009. Only one week ago it was given the second prize in the category “Watches over 25.000 Euro” in Germany's “Goldene Unruh” (golden balance) awards ceremony. In December 2009 it received the Good Design Award in New York. In November 2009 A. Lange & Söhne was the first non-Swiss watch brand to win the “L'Aiguille d'Or” (golden hand) for the Lange Zeitwerk at the “Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève”, the Swiss watch industry's most prominent award. It has also been awarded in Mexico, Bahrain and Austria.
The Lange Zeitwerk is the first mechanical wristwatch with a truly eloquent jumping numeral display. With a completely innovative watch concept the “Face of New Epoch in Timekeeping” marks a further milestone in the history of A. Lange & Söhne.
