Pascal Raffy, the owner of BOVET Fleurier SA and of DIMIER 1738 Manufacture de Haute Horlogerie Artisanale, naturally entrusted to the latter the development and production of this exceptional timepiece.

BOVET strives constantly to manufacture timepieces whose complications improve accuracy and provide genuinely useful indications. The Tourbillon Grande Date is no exception to the rule. Specialising in the design, manufacture, assembly and timing of tourbillons, the master watchmakers of DIMIER 1738 never tire of developing this complication, which here breaks new ground in terms of performance and aesthetic refinement.

Invented in the 18th century in the era of the pocket watch, the tourbillon is designed to nullify the effects of the earth's gravitation on timing when the watch is positioned vertically. The Amadeo case housing this Tourbillon Grande Date model – and indeed the entire Fleurier collection – allows the timepiece to be converted to a reversible wristwatch, a miniature table clock or a pocket watch through simple manipulations requiring no tools whatsoever. The Amadeo concept therefore more than ever justifies the use of a regulating organ driven by a tourbillon cage.

The upper pivot of the tourbillon carries a triple seconds-hand that ensures the latter's dynamic equilibrium. This hand completes the indication of hours and minutes offset at 12 o'clock.

A balanced array of information is shown on a sapphire dial whose dulled surfaces alternate with transparent sectors showing the magnificent Large Date mechanism revealed in a generous circular aperture at 6 o'clock.

The other face of the timepiece reveals the entire movement, in the centre of which can be seen the reversed hands fitting. This face also shows the power reserve indicator with its convenient five-day duration.

The striking feature of this Tourbillon is that it presents a combination of several grand complications in the guise of a simple, comfortable and reliable timepiece... qualities that collectors will undoubtedly appreciate.
