On Monday 28 September, Richard Mille opens the doors to its first standalone boutique in Spain at Calle José Ortega y Gasset 10. Occupying a prominent corner location at Claudio Coello in the heart of Madrid’s Milla de Oro, the 441-square metre boutique brings together technical expertise, bold design and the art of hospitality in a space conceived specifically for the Spanish capital.

Spain has played an important role in the Richard Mille story since the brand’s earliest years, with some of its first significant clients and commercial partners based across the country. Their support helped shape a strong and enduring connection with Spain, one that has continued to deepen and evolve over time.

As Richard Mille’s retail model evolved towards fully owned boutiques, Madrid became the natural setting for the brand’s first standalone presence in Spain. The ambition was to create a space that could fully embody the brand’s identity while responding to the character of the city itself. Calle José Ortega y Gasset, one of Madrid’s most emblematic luxury addresses, offered precisely that opportunity.

Rafa Nadal, whose longstanding relationship with Richard Mille has played a defining role in the brand’s international story, had also encouraged the team over many years to establish a presence in Madrid. The result is a boutique conceived as far more than a retail space.

‘Spain has been part of the Richard Mille story since the brand’s earliest years, and we have wanted to establish a boutique in Madrid for more than a decade. We were determined, however, to wait for the right location — somewhere with the character, independence and proportions to create far more than a traditional retail environment. Calle Ortega y Gasset has given us the opportunity to create a true Richard Mille home in the city: a place where clients can discover our watches, meet our specialists and, above all, enjoy spending time with us,’ explains Peter Harrison, CEO of Richard Mille EMEA.

From the street, black-framed windows and white awnings create a discreet, understated façade. Beyond the two corner entrances, a foyer rising more than four metres immediately reveals the boutique’s architectural character.

The sales floor is set half a level above, while the private hospitality spaces unfold half a level below. A circular glass lift and sculptural staircase connect the two, creating a natural flow through the space.

On the upper level, library-style joinery defines two lounges, the principal sales area and a series of showcases carefully positioned to capture the abundant natural light. At its centre, an on-site watchmaker’s room and dedicated polishing room place the brand’s technical savoir-faire at the heart of the client experience, with five counter seats offering visitors a privileged view of the craftsmanship at work.

The lower level is devoted to hospitality, with a sequence of lounges, a dining room, bar, wine cellar and humidor creating a discreet setting for private appointments, conversation and shared experiences. A bespoke Richard Mille ping-pong table reflects the brand’s design language, while a concealed door seamlessly integrated into the joinery reveals a more secluded lounge.

Throughout the boutique, Richard Mille’s architectural identity is subtly infused with a Spanish sensibility. Natural textures, Ecoclay finishes, warm timber and bronze sit alongside local tiles, softly illuminated arches and a harmonious interplay of beamed and coffered ceilings. Rather than relying on the overt use of colour, the design captures the spirit of Madrid through material, proportion and atmosphere. Locally sourced furniture and decorative elements complete an interior that feels elegant, convivial and distinctly residential.

Open Monday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 07:00 pm, the Madrid boutique brings together the many facets of the Richard Mille universe in one destination. Technical watchmaking and contemporary design are complemented by generous spaces dedicated to hospitality, friendship and exchange, establishing a home for the brand in Spain that is both unmistakably Richard Mille and intrinsically Madrid.
