Press release

The Patravi TravelTec by Carl F. Bucherer is a big, bold chronograph whose ingenious case and movement design allows three time zones to be displayed simultaneously. A watch which leaves a lasting impression, its impressive appearance now rendered even more striking by 64 brillant-cut diamonds.
In the Patravi TravelTec, Carl F. Bucherer has developed a big, bold timepiece that stands head and shoulders above other time zone watches thanks to its highly functional and sophisticated functions. In addition to its practical chronograph, the exclusive CFB 1901 caliber is equipped with ingenious functions that allow two time zones to be displayed. A third time zone is set by means of a patented mechanism in the case and a new monophuser.
Setting local time
The CFB 1901 certified chronometer movement was developed by Carl F. Bucherer. The hours-hand can be disengaged from the rest of the train using the crown and moved either forward or backward in exact one hour increments. The movement continues to run, so that the exact time is kept while the watch is being set. Setting the local time is therefore always a straightforward operation, even when large time differences are involved.
Setting the date
The Patravi TravelTec allows the date to be reset in either direction with the display changing automatically as soon as the time is set backward. Resetting the date is thus a relatively quick and easy matter of turning the crown.
Second and third time zones
An additional, red 24-hours-hand ensures together with the fixed 24-hours scale on the dial's raised ring that the wearer can always keep track of the all-important time back home, no matter where he or she is in the world. And, in conjunction with the 24-hours rotating bezel, the red hand can also display a third time zone. The rotating bezel is not moved by simply turning another crown, but with the aid of a new, monopusher mechanism, which is located at 10 o'clock.
Innovative monopusher
With the push of a button the bezel can be turned forward or backward in one hour steps, depending on the travel direction and the position of the sophisticated switch mechanism. A third, neutral position prevents the display unintentionally being set to the wrong position. This construction results in fast and precise wheel movement as well as great ease of use, since the monopusher can be operated without having to remove the watch from the wrist.
A solid watch-case
The solid case is one of the most complex in the world of watches. Together with the switch mechanism, it is made up of more than 70 components. The sapphire crystal is non-reflecting on both sides, thus providing optimum readability. The caseback and crown are screwed on and water-resistant to 50 m (5 atm). The complex monopusher mechanism is visible through an aperture in the side of the watch case.

A gleaming spectacle
Apart from all these innovative technical aspects, the appeal of the new Patravi TravelTec models lies in their eye-catching exterior. 64 sparkling brillant-cut 1.8 carat TW vvs diamonds adorn the case of the generously sized timepiece, which gleams in sleek stainless steel or precious 18 K rose gold. A calfskin strap with either a stainless steel folding-clasp buckle or a pin buckle in 18 K rose gold, or a stainless steel bracelet, completes the exceptionally attractive and glamorous appearance.
The new Patravi TravelTec models with diamonds can be worn at any time of the whole year and are sure to cause a stir on each occasion. In consequence, they are timepieces for people who are not afraid of making a grand impression and who appreciate the combination of innovative technology with unique aesthetics.
