With its determination for modern and innovative development, Cvstos once again surprises the watchmaking world with a revolutionary design based on the research and development of two master watchmakers, Pierre-Michel and Jean-Pierre Golay. A concept-S (sport) that takes the ultra-traditional dimension of chronometer manufacturing to new extremes in its execution and finish, while being inventive in its presentation: the Challenge Chrono Tourbillon rattrapante sport.

The concept-S is a combination of exceptional know-how and the legacy of a resolutely sporty design, marking it out as a true work of Haute Horlogerie. It is the first time that the concept has become a reality – making a complication the principal function and reducing the basic time-telling function to a feature of secondary importance. "We have succeeded in producing a real chronograph rather than a chronograph watch".

Usually the chronograph is an additional function of the bracelet watch, whereas the focal point of the CTR-S is its chronograph mechanism, the time function being only "secondary".

With its four registered patents, it is a testament to the perpetual need for innovation of the brand, which refuses to follow certain trends of continuity. A watch concept of this stature is steadfastly recognised as an authority in an increasingly competitive world of watch design.

This rattrapante chronograph with a mysterious tourbillon has a reversed movement mechanism (the chronograph function can be seen at the front of the watch). We have dared to put on display that which usually remains hidden. The aim of this is, firstly, to demystify the complication for the layman and, secondly, to enhance the technical aspect for connoisseurs.

It is the first rattrapante chronograph with flying tourbillon on the market. The carriage's upper bridge is made of Ergal aluminium and is wholly mysterious in its configuration (without a liaison bridge between the main plate and the tourbillon carriage itself). This lends it extreme visual grace and a staggering impression of being suspended in a vacuum.

It is also equipped with a coupling in series with the chronograph by interaxial variation (linear and non-rotary function) not requiring any braking of the chronograph wheel, which is the usual cause of loss of power. The minute counter is instantaneous, and also without power loss. The rattrapante mechanism, without clamps and without perturbation on the chronograph wheel, guarantees unequalled reliability in comparison to conventional couplings based on a clamp system.

The chronograph's kinematic mechanisms are at the centre of the movement, enabling the energy required for its operation to be punctually distributed.

Lastly, it has synchronisation of the zero positioning systems of the counters for the chronograph function, for the minute counter and for the hour counter.

This new jewel of the Concept-S collection is a showpiece of Swiss Haute Horlogerie. It pays homage to its designer with an inscription engraved on the rear central bridge dual frame that reads, "Cvstos 555 engineered by Pierre-Michel Golay" and "4 patents by JPGOLAY".
