Da Vindice Universe
It is through the passion for his ancestors and Swiss artisanal watchmaking that the pioneer, Mr. C. Vindice, CEO of Exclusive Time S.A. has decided to create Da Vindice in 2009, following the spirit of contribution in the contemporary watchmaking history. The brand owes its name to Giulio Vindice, from the Latin Iulius Vindex, an exceptional man and defender of freedom in ancient Rome times.
The Da Vindice watch brand is inspired by the world's great inventions, notably those of the middle age, which have contributed to the achievement of world important conquests by exceptional explorers, such as Marco Polo.
A combination of uniqueness, creativity and spirit of innovation defines the essence of Da Vindice. In 2010, Da Vindice unveils a world premier, the “Tourbillon - Barometer“, in the “High complication category” of the prestigious Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.
This revolutionary timepiece, edited in a limited edition of 50 pieces is endowed with a new premier feature; an aneroid barometer, a never-before-seen analogical mechanism in the technical and fine watchmaking world.
Vindex Tourbillon Barometer
The barometer is part of the measuring instruments which have contributed to the birth of meteorology, this instrument can measure the atmospheric pressure and thus get weather forecast. The first aneroid barometer was introduced around the year 1840.
The type of barometer used in this watch is an aneroid barometer. The atmospheric pressure is managed in a capsule, known as « Vidie capsule» hermetically sealed with the air partially removed from it. The walls of the capsule are held apart by a spring. Small changes in atmospheric pressure cause the capsule to expand or contract. Therefore, a mechanical system can amplify the movements resulting from changes in pressure to make them visible on the dial.
Tourbillon - Barometer by Da Vindice is a noble creation endowed with a power reserve at 10 o'clock. This exclusive wrist watch is water-resistance guaranteed, up to 3 ATM, despite its mechanical complexity.
