The announcement of this association provided Breguet with the opportunity to invite VIP clients and journalists to a performance of Gioachino Rossini’s opera « Il Barbiere di Siviglia », played for the first time in 1816 in the Italian capital.
The choice of this work accentuates a particular symbolism—the great Gioachino Rossini was one of Breguet’s famous clients. During his lifetime, the composer was indeed the happy owner of a small simple Breguet watch, which accompanied him his entire life.
