In honour of its historic hometown, Carl F. Bucherer supports the renowned Lucerne Festival and the American Friends of Lucerne Festival for the third consecutive year, making it possible for up-and-coming talents to learn from established musical geniuses in the heart of Switzerland.
The gala fundraising event took place in the concert house Carnegie Hall in New York City. First-class private concerts were the highlight of the evening, performed by the alumni of the Lucerne Festival Academy and the world-famous pianist Yefim Bronfman. A special moment came when Dr. Hubert Achermann was honoured. The chairman of the board of the Lucerne Festival and the Friends of Lucerne Festival has been crucial in advancing the development, the international profile of the festival, and of the city Lucerne, as well. As a tribute to his service, he received an exclusive timepiece by Carl F. Bucherer: the Manero PowerReserve. The proceeds of the benefit event will go towards the most talented young musicians, paving their way to visit the Lucerne Festival Academy for the summer, the prestigious Swiss musical institution founded by Pierre Boulez.
