Video. Berlinale 2016

During the 66th Berlinale and for the 6th year in a row Glashütte Original welcomed visitors from around the world to its lounge on the 24th floor of the Kollhoff Tower at Potsdamer Platz.

From the opening countdown to the closing ceremonies of the 66th Berlinale Glashütte Original hosted hundreds of film industry professionals, journalists, fans and friends of the art of making movies. Among the industry and festival players who dropped in for a close encounter with the fine art of German watchmaking were the American singer and actor Nick Jonas, American actress Cynthia Nixon, German director and producer Tom Tykwer, German actor Sebastian Koch and German cinematographer Michael Ballhaus, along with Berlinale director Dieter Kosslick. Another high-profile visitor to the lounge was German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

This year in the lounge the firm told the story of the Senator Cosmopolite, the timepiece designed for the modern world traveller; different IATA codes lead to faraway cities and key moments from the history of the Berlinale. Also featured in the lounge was the new Senator Chronometer, premiering in Berlin in advance of its official debut at Baselworld 2016 next month.
