During the first day of the festival Diane Kruger attended the press-conference and the photo call along with her co-stars to promote the film.

Diane called the role “definitely one of the most challenging…Whenever you play a historical figure, a lot of people have opinions already, especially in the case of Marie Antoinette.”

The film is one of eighteen in competition for the festival's top honor, the Golden Bear.
