In early 1853, founder Mr. Charles Lewis Tiffany installed one of New York’s first public clocks right above his Tiffany & Co. store. The 9-foot Atlas clock symbolized the hustle and bustle of the city, with people beginning to set their watches to the clock, allowing it to define the “New York Minute” for the city. Today, this clock still stands above the entrance of Tiffany & Co.’s Fifth Avenue flagship store, reflecting its outstanding achievement and witness to the journey of creating modern New York City. Since then, Tiffany & Co. has become a world-renowned jeweler and watchmaker; its prestigious craftsmanship and customer service are widely recognized.
