"The GPHG is a distinctive organisation and platform that honours horological innovation, design and craftsmanship. By selecting Kuala Lumpur, it is an affirmation of this city’s growing importance in the watchmaking world. This is aligned with The Hour Glass’ mission to advance watch culture, offering our community of enthusiasts access to some of the most extraordinary watches of our generation.” Michael Tay, Group Managing Director of The Hour Glass
"The welcome we received for our first exhibition in Malaysia exceeded all our expectations. Organised in partnership with The Hour Glass, it reinforces our desire to present our road show in new countries.” Carine Maillard, Director of the GPHG Foundation
After Kuala Lumpur, the World Tour 2023 will continue in New York, where the 84 nominated watches will be on display from 18 to 22 October in partnership with Watches of Switzerland. The Musée Rath in Geneva will host all the nominated timepieces, including mechanical clocks, from 26 October to 12 November 2023. This exhibition will be accompanied by a wide-ranging cultural outreach programme.
The timepieces presented are in the running for one of 20 prizes – including the prestigious “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix – that will be awarded on 9 November in Geneva at the 23rd GPHG awards ceremony, broadcast live on gphg.org at 6PM CET.
