The Winter Marathon is a regularity rally for historic cars built up to 1968 and automobiles of particular historic or collector’s interest produced until 1976. The 450 km course was broken into two stages, travelling along the picturesque roads of Trentino-Alto Adige.
The 32nd edition of Winter Marathon took place from 23 to 26 January and counted about 100 cars with drivers from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and, of course, Italy, including Davide Valsecchi, a driver who has raced in both GP2 Asia Series and Formula 1, and who is now a sports commentator.
Andrea Luigi Belometti and Massimo Bettinsoli driving a 1937 Fiat 508 C won the the race. Edoardo Bellini and Roberto Ottorino Tiberti driving a 1937 Fiat 508 C came in second, while third place went to Guido Barcella and Ombretta Ghidotti in a 1963 Porsche 356 C Coupé.
The spectacular Frozen Lake Eberhard Trophy, an exciting elimination challenge for the first 32 teams to classify, held at Madonna di Campiglio, saw young driver Edoardo Bellini with his navigator Roberto Tiberti aboard a 1937 Fiat 508 C victorious, coming in ahead of Fabio and Marco Salvinelli in their 1954 Fiat 1100/103. Attilio Bonetti and Mauro Lanzini in a 1971 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider V came in third place.
Awarding the winners, alongside the organisers, was Eberhard & Co. Brand Ambassador Miki Biasion, two-times world rally champion, part of a special team driving a 1968 Alfa Romeo GT 1750 Veloce.
