Winner in 2011 and 2015 in New York, the Serbian player claimed a third trophy with victory over Argentinian player Juan Martin del Potro in final and added a 14th Grand Slam title to his credit.

On Sunday September 9, Novak Djokovic won the US Open for the third time in his career - after his titles in 2011 and 2015 - with victory over Argentinian player Juan Martin del Potro in three sets 6-3 7-6 6-3. This victory also gave the Serbian player the opportunity to rob his day opponent of the third place and get back in world top-3 behind Spanish player Rafael Nadal and Swiss player Roger Federer.

Already victorious in Wimbledon on July 15, he now claims a second Grand Slam title in 2018 and takes his total to 14. He shares then from now on the third place of the all-time Grand Slam winners list with American player Pete Sempras, but remains at six units behind recordman Roger Federer with 20 trophies to his credit.

This new trophy is a tribute to Novak Djokovic's amazing consistency at this event over the years. He has reached the semi-finals or better at each of the last ten US Open Championships in which he has taken part.

Seiko's partner since 2014, Novak Djokovic wore his very own limited edition Astron GPS Solar watch on his wrist as he raised the trophy in the air.
