By winning the final of the Australian Open against Rafael Nadal (6-3 6-2 6-3) in Melbourne on Sunday, Novak Djokovic wrote new pages into the history of tennis. He has now won the tournament seven times, one more than any man in history and he now has fifteen Grand Slam titles to his name, putting him into sole third place in the all-time list behind Rafael Nadal (17 titles) and Roger Federer (20 titles). While holding the Australian Open trophy, Novak Djokovic was wearing his Seiko Astron GPS Solar watch.
As a Seiko ambassador, Novak Djokovic participated in a fan participation event before the tournament. The tennis player presented prizes to the winners of a Virtual Reality competition in which tennis fans in Melbourne were able to play a “virtual” match against him.
