Creation of GREUBEL FORSEY.
1999 Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey continue to work together after their departure from Renaud & Papi and soon realise they share the same vision to break new ground in the watchmaking field and invent new movements.2001 They create CompliTime SA in la Chaux-de-Fonds, a company dedicated to the development of complicated movements for prestige watchmaking.At the same time they work towards developing their own signature Greubel Forsey.2004 Their dream comes true after more than four years of effort: during Baselworld they launch their brand Greubel Forsey and their first invention, the Double Tourbillon 30°, a patented movement specifically adapted for the wristwatch.The launch is a success and Greubel Forsey begins to build a very exclusive network of retailers worldwide.2005 The inventor-watchmakers present their second patented invention, the Quadruple Tourbillon à Différentiel where four tourbillons are linked by a spherical differential.Greubel Forsey introduces its ground breaking E.W.T – Experimental Watch Technology – a working method and test bench for new horological mechanisms.In the utmost secrecy, Harry Winston and Greubel Forsey decide jointly to create Opus 6, to be presented during Baselworld 2006.2006 At Baselworld this year, Greubel Forsey unveils its third invention - the Tourbillon 24 Secondes Incliné, another patented movement still in its initial experimental phase and which explores the avenue of the rapid rotation of a single inclined carriageRobert Greubel and Stephen Forsey join forces with independent watchmakers Philippe Dufour, Vianney Halter and Kari Voutilainen to create Time Aeon Alliance with the shared aim of supporting, promoting and upholding the art of fine watchmaking.To everyone's great surprise, Harry Winston and Greubel Forsey present the unexpected Opus 6 during Baselworld 2006.Richemont International S.A acquires a minority share capital of Greubel Forsey S.A.
