Press release
Created in 2001, the “Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève” quickly distinguished itself as a premier event for fine timepieces. Sponsored by the City and by the State of Geneva, it has become the most recognized award ceremony within the watch making industry.

A stunning feat of engineering and design, Opus 9 celebrates Harry Winston's commitment to innovation and collaboration in fine watch making. Utilizing diamonds as the functional element of telling time, Opus 9 celebrates the core of the Harry Winston heritage, while pushing the boundaries of timepiece design. Building upon the Opus tradition of partnering with an outside watchmaker to develop a new Opus design, Opus 9 marks the first time that Harry Winston has partnered with two, independent pioneering forces in the field of haute-horlogerie -- watch maker Jean-Marc Wiederrecht, and designer Eric Giroud. Both longtime Winston collaborators each have contributed to some of Harry Winston's most significant timepiece innovations, with Opus 9 the first time that the duo has joined forces to develop a timepiece concept for Harry Winston timepiece.
Whether it is the world's finest diamonds or whether it is complicated timepieces, the promise of Harry Winston remains constant and unyielding: to create only exceptional and remarkable works of art.
