This quality-focused environment has led him to graduate in watchmaking in 1999, before joining a start-up brand, Roger Dubuis, then centered around its namesake. He then takes on heavy responsibilities at Urwerk, working on the Harry Winston Opus V project. He is still in charge of after sales and repairs on the 45 pieces of that limited series.
He then sets up shop inside M. Svend Andersen's workshop and explores complications like the tourbillon and automata. In 2006, he designs the watchmaking curriculum at IFAGE, an adult training center, where he still teaches today.
In 2007, he becomes founder of GMTI, a versatile watchmaking sub-contractor, which he still heads and which he lately focused on assembling high quality Geneva Hallmark movements. Finally, in 2018, Sébastien Billières teams up with Catherine Henry and creates Genus.
