Baselworld - After Seve Ballesteros, Jaermann & Stübi has created a further piece of history using a golfing legend's golf clubs.

In the context of the "Faldo Series"– a successful non-profit organization, which promotes talented young golfers around the world, Sir Nick Faldo and Jaermann & Stübi – The Timepiece of Golf – have created a further exclusive highlight. A watch whose case was forged from the golf clubs used by Nick Faldo to win the 1997 Los Angeles Open, his last tournament as a professional golfer. Each watch case of the limited edition of 72 timepieces can be ascribed to one of the irons used by Nick, which makes the remarkable watch all the more unique.

The clock is equipped with the golf counter complication developed and patented by Jaermann & Stübi and a state-of-the-art automatic movement. It offers a one-of-a-kind, exclusive function: It counts the strokes per hole, adds the total strokes per game and compares scores with the golfer's handicap. The watch also comes with a shock absorber and, like the golf counter, is fully mechanical. The young Swiss watch brand is characterized by its sporty elegant design, its flawless functioning and the exacting technical expertise combined with tradition and exclusiveness.

The heart of all Jaermann & Stübi watches is the golf counter complication, a completely new patent-pending development. The golf counter complication is fully mechanical in design and has a counter for strokes per hole, a second counter to keep track of total strokes per game, and a third retrograde counter to display the holes played. The three counters are activated using pushers on the left-hand side of the watch. This leaves your wrist unobstructed and ensures that the pushers do not interfere with your swing. Furthermore, they are not obscured by your golfing gloves. The sophisticated design of the golf counter complication can be compared with that of a mechanical chronograph.

The movement and the golf counter are protected against shocks and impacts by means of a shock absorber integrated in the housing. The movement has a power reserve of 42 hours. The watchface is protected by 1.8-mm-thick, concave, scratch-proof sapphire glass. The back is hermetically attached to the case by eight screws and also features sapphire glass. The watch is waterproof up to a depth of 100 meters.
