Born in Geneva with Lebanese origins, Alain Mouawad studied at Pepperdine University in California, USA, and Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland with a double specialisation in marketing and sociology. Together with his two brothers he represents the fourth generation of managers in the family company and soon picked up a passion for watches. After spending a year at Heinz Heimann DMB & B in Zurich, Alain Mouawad set up his own communications agency, Pro-Mond SA, taking charge of the watch advertising budget for the Mouawad group. He later managed the Robergé brand, which was set up by his father and, in 2010, launched the exclusive Blacksand collection. Since 2013, Alain Mouawad has been head of the Mouawad watch division.
A passion for watchmaking has been passed down through the Mouawad family for several generations. This attachment is now rooted in the Franches-Montagnes district, where the family business still has its workshops.
