Outlook 2017 Sassoun Sirmakes, CEO of Cvstos
At the SIAR show in Mexico and the SalonQP in London partnered by GMT, brand leaders cast a glance back at the 2016 highlights and look ahead to those of 2017. Today, Sassoun Sirmakes.
2016: “The two landmark events for Cvstos were our first attendance at Baselworld and the launch of our first women’s collection, which happened at the same time. Setting up our booth, on the first floor of the main hall of the world’s biggest watch fair, remains a powerful memory! We’d never met so many journalists at one time!
In the wake of Baselworld we strengthened our commercial operations and hired a new international sales and marketing director. These efforts paid off, as we were able to set up a new distribution network in France and Italy. Alongside these developments we have also invested in sponsorship, for instance with the MotoGP rider Loris Baz, the Japanese stable Leon for the Super GT3 championships, and tattoo artist Christian N’Guyen, whose limited edition sold very well at our Kuala Lumpur event.”
2017: “We will continue to roll out our collections while launching new and innovative products, in order to maintain our avant-garde brand image. We’ll be launching a new collection of round watches, and our women’s watch collection will be significantly expanded. We have lots of ideas for new watches, but we’re going to concentrate on just a few, to ensure we carry them through effectively. Clients will have the opportunity to buy a new tourbillon and a new universal hour.
We’ll also be focusing on the Sealiner collection. It already has excellent visibility, but several markets are asking us for more. So in the spring, for example, we’ll be launching a limited edition dedicated to our new partner, the Portofino Yacht Club. The nautical world in general will become more important for Cvstos. I’m also counting on my distributors to step up their communication efforts. Cvstos still has enormous growth potential in many markets.”
