In 2014 Ruben Mira Blanco was made Managing Director of Cyrus, a watch brand created in 2011, which takes its name from Cyrus the Great, conqueror and founder of the Persian Empire.
Born in Switzerland in 1980, Ruben Mira Blanco holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the Business School Lausanne. In 2006 he joined DLC Trading in Neuchâtel as head of sales in the Caribbean, Central America and Latin American regions for Corum, British Masters, Hublot, Romain Jerome and Wyler Genève.
Between 2008 and 2010 Ruben Mira Blanco moved over to banking where he worked as a financial adviser, before returning to watchmaking and to sales. In 2011 and 2012 he was in charge of the Swiss and Austrian markets for Gucci Watches & Jewellery. In 2013 he was given responsibility for the Swiss and European markets for the launch of Cyrus’s Moon Phase watch range, before being appointed its manager. He was CEO of Cyrus until 2017.
