A loyal partner of the Venice Film Festival since 2005, Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, the reference in Swiss fine watchmaking, will once again be a player in all its special moments. As part of this commitment and as a fervent advocate of cinema, Jaeger-LeCoultre is supporting the production of a documentary retracing the life and career of the great actor Vittorio Mezzogiorno, evoked through the voice of his daughter Giovanna.

This work dedicated to the life of Vittorio Mezzogiorno, a much regretted artist who died all too soon after emerging as key figure in the Italian theatre and movie world during the 1970s and 80s, will be presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival, the legendary “Mostra”.

The actor's daughter Giovanna Mezzogiorno is both co-producer (along with Vega's Project) and narrator of the documentary film directed by Daniele Anzellotti and Francesco De Grossi. Accompanied by an original soundtrack by Pino Daniele, the account of his life is enriched by testimony from people well acquainted with the actor on both personal and professional levels, including several major film and stage directors with whom Vittorio Mezzogiorno worked both in Italy and abroad.

A preview screening of the documentary film is scheduled for the next edition of the Mostra, a festival in which Jaeger-LeCoultre has developed its own role by highlighting the work of young artists and contributing to the restoration of historical masterpieces.

Leading lights from the world of film-making along with watchmaking devotees will also enjoy the opportunity to rediscover Jaeger-LeCoultre's historical Calibre 101 watch movement at a prestigious evening held on September 8th, where several unique models including two re-editions are to be unveiled. A number of celebrities are expected to attend, including worthy representatives of the Italian movie industry such as Giovanna Mezzogiorno and Riccardo Scamarcio.
