Since 2007, the Geneva-based House of Ladoire has been playing with contradictions and associating extremes within atypical creations featuring cutting-edge complications and sophisticated aesthetics.
Under the impetus of Lionel Ladoire, the design of these models is defined, shaped and matured in tune with an underground-rock style mood inspired by contemporary culture and some of its most famous exponents such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, Andy Warhol and Philippe Starck.
The daringly asymmetrical Roller Guardian Time RGT confronts a virile design with the soft lines and silk touch of the case middle, while the resolutely technical nature of the display stands out against the backdrop of the ultra-refined movement decorations.
Stemming from an unbridled imagination and a decidedly offbeat mind-set – symbolised by the signature spider's web engraved on the GMT wheel and the ratchet – Ladoire Genève creations shake up traditional watchmaking codes and favour deconstructed time displays.
Endowed with an extraordinarily complex display mode and unusual dimensions, the innovative concept of the H M S Planetary® complication is duly protected by a patent.
The entirely offset Hour, Minute and Seconds indications of this Regulator-type model are displayed by three cages mounted on ceramic micro ball bearings. The RGT also features a GMT function with a central hand that can be rapidly adjusted via a dedicated corrector push-button at 2 o'clock.
Crafted according to the rigorous standards of fine leather-making, the blue alligator leather Ladoire strap features a hand-sewn matt black leather lining and is fitted with an articulated double pin buckle.
This summer, Lionel Ladoire is introducing a three-piece limited edition on which the revisited bridges, strap and dial sport a casual denim blue shade.
