We first met them in 2015, in the heart of Paris, on Place du Marché Saint-Honoré. Two young entrepreneurs, lifelong friends, former Scouts and, above all, graduates of ESSEC. It was thanks to the prestigious business school, as well as an initial crowdfunding campaign, that Adrien Sanglé-Ferrière and Ambroise Parlos launched Charlie Paris.
Since then, the duo has made its mark across the watchmaking world. Today, they are at the helm of an established, independent and creative brand that has always made a point of offering its creations at fair prices. Charlie is now available at 35 points of sale across France and Europe. And one of the driving forces behind its growth, the Concordia collection, is back in the spotlight with six new models.
Deliveries resume on September 16
The refresh is certainly welcome: anyone looking to buy a Concordia today ... simply can't. Every model is sold out. The collection, launched in 2018 and originally designed for young explorer Matthieu Tordeur (born in 1991) to wear during his kite-ski crossing of Antarctica, was available in quartz and automatic versions, with GMT and date functions. As always, the prices were highly accessible: €295 for the quartz model and €795 for the automatic version.
There is no need to change a winning formula: the 2026 collection retains the same quartz / automatic GMT lineup, while dropping the three-hand automatic version. But that is where the similarities end. The new version features a new design, a new movement and new colors. It will once again be available from September 16, at an even more competitive price: the quartz model remains at €295, while the automatic GMT is priced at €645, almost 20% less than the previous edition.
Designed for exploration
The adventure-ready Concordia remains built for exploration, with a 40.5mm steel case, water resistance rated to 300 meters thanks to a screw-down crown, luminous indications, three hands, a date and a GMT for traveling the world.
On the movement side, however, Charlie is moving away from the Soprod P024 (the same type as the ETA 2824-2, but made by Festina) in favor of the Japanese TMI/Seiko NH34 automatic mechanical movement. The power reserve increases slightly, from 38 to 41 hours, mainly because the former operates at a higher frequency (28,800 vibrations per hour) and is therefore more energy-intensive than the latter (21,600 vibrations per hour). The GMT is also a native complication of the Japanese movement.
The new Concordia collection comprises four quartz references and five automatic models in unusual colorways. In addition to the same Antarctic blue as the quartz model, the black version features a lime-green GMT rehaut. The white dial, meanwhile, has a textured, snow-like finish and is called Toundra. The final two models take their inspiration from nature, with sage green and deep burgundy, one of the standout colors of the new watchmaking season. As is often the case with Charlie, the interchangeable five-link steel bracelets can be swapped without tools for nylon, leather or rubber straps.
