User-centric: The Royal Oak "Jumbo" Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon Extra-Thin Chronograph RD#5 is designed for optimal ergonomics, an approach increasingly explored by the Manufacture.

Stemming from a five-year development process, this RD#5 presented to mark the brand's 150th anniversary is the latest peak expression in this field. The timepiece retains the 39 mm diameter of the original Jumbo, but with a flying tourbillon and a chronograph — a unique double complication powered by the exclusive new Caliber 8100.

Among the innovations are new pushers featuring a feel similar to those of a smartphone: instead of a 1 mm travel requiring 1.5 kg of pressure, AP has moved to 0.3 mm for just 0.3 kg of force.

The crown now incorporates a function selector. The chronograph hands are reset using a rack-and-pinion system that releases stored energy instead of relying on traditional brakes. The tourbillon features a newly developed escapement.

The hands are made of titanium, and the oscillating weight is now peripheral. The case and bracelet combine titanium and BMG (Bulk Metallic Glass), offering a unique blend of lightness and strength for this top-flight model!
