The Rule of Three

Titanium, deep red, and tourbillon: the Overseas ushers in a new era of sporty elegance according to Vacheron Constantin.

In 1996, cinema pulsed to the rhythm of Pulp Fiction, the Spice Girls imposed their pop energy, grunge reshaped wardrobe codes, and Vacheron Constantin launched a new watch: the Overseas. In this electric era, when sportswear stepped off the playing fields and invaded the streets, the term “sport-chic” began to circulate, heralding the coming wave. Thirty years later, the Overseas remains true to its values: robustness, precision, water resistance… and style. Its return in 2026 confirms the obvious: this watch has not only stood the test of time, it has set a standard.

Technical and bold

With its titanium case, this Overseas Tourbillon continues the pioneering spirit that drove Vacheron Constantin to explore new horizons as early as the 19th century. Following on from the 2022 Overseas skeleton tourbillon, the first timepiece entirely in titanium, it retains the DNA of the bold and adventurous watch. As for its deep red dial, it is not just a question of aesthetics: in Rome, blood red already adorned the imperatores before passing to lords and cardinals. “It brings a touch of originality and fits into a vision of elegance and intensity,” emphasizes Christian Selmoni, Director of Style and Heritage. The dial’s finishing, characterized by a sunburst satin and a lacquered flange, highlights the tourbillon and the full horological artistry of the piece.

Tested against terrestrial gravity

The tourbillon, usually confined to classic watches, here finds an unexpected playground: that of sport. An equation long considered impossible, but now perfectly mastered. “Since the invention of the tourbillon, watchmaking technology has made major advances, notably in material science and shock-absorbing systems protecting the regulating organs. These developments now make it possible to design tourbillon watches suited to an active life, with a sporty elegance unthinkable just a few decades ago,” recalls Christian Selmoni.

Ultra-thin, ultra-performing

Beneath its 10.39 mm case, the Overseas reveals its secret: the automatic caliber 2160. An exceptional movement combining lightness and performance, powered by a peripheral guilloché gold rotor offering 80 hours of power reserve. The oscillating mass, integrated into the bridges, frees the view of the mechanics, while the skeletonized tourbillon cage, ingeniously designed without a central pinion, transmits energy with exemplary precision. The result? A watch of rare finesse that naturally hugs the wrist and transforms the most technical complication in watchmaking into a pure style gesture.

Craftsmanship in full light

Add to that finishes designed to enhance the mechanics, and the picture becomes perfect. Every detail matters. Perlage on the mainplate, hand-angled bridges, cradle-mounted tourbillon bar, polished wheels and screws… Across its 188 components, the movement plays with light and reveals spectacular sophistication. Technique and elegance merge in a single brilliance.

Three straps, three faces

Final detail, the watch is offered with three straps. First option: an integrated titanium bracelet, equipped with a three-blade folding clasp. Second option: a deep red rubber strap. And, final possibility: a white rubber strap. All can of course be changed in a single gesture, without tools, thanks to the titanium clasp.
