Roland Garros made him sweat cold. On the court and off the field. On May 31, Novak Djokovic faces Filip Misolic in a night session. Just a stone's throw away, the Parc des Princes is in a frenzy, PSG has just won the Champions League final against Inter Milan. The Serb then finds himself in the front row of the incidents following the Parisians' victory. The return to the hotel is epic for the tennis player... But it is nothing compared to the tumultuous adventures that await him in the following days. A week later, he loses to Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals of the tournament. On one side of the net, a veteran (38 years old), on the other the young world number one (23 years old). He said in an interview: "It might have been my last match here, I don't know, that's why it was emotional."
A collaboration born on the world's greatest courts
While doubt hovers over the continuation of his career, Novak Djokovic keeps the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics in mind. Meanwhile, he is present at the heart of the Wimbledon draw (June 30 - July 13), still as sharp. And always loyal to Hublot. Because who better than this player with 100 titles - won between 2006 and 2025 - to embody the values of the Nyon brand: audacity, demand, and a love for challenge? After adorning the wrists of Simona Halep, Karolina Pliskova, Borna Coric, and also Elina Svitolina, Hublot officially partnered with Djokovic at the 2021 US Open. A collaboration marked by an appearance with a Big Bang Meca-10 Ceramic Blue on his wrist in Melbourne and Roland-Garros. But above all, the co-creation of a completely new piece, developed specifically for the champion. The project? To create a watch capable of combining resistance, lightness, and bold design. A timepiece in his image, without compromise.
Created from rackets and polos
For this signature edition, the brand didn't just release a new color or revisit a dial. No, it went directly into Novak Djokovic's locker and sports bag. Result: a watch designed from 25 worn Head rackets on the circuit and 17 dark Lacoste polos and 15 light Lacoste polos worn throughout his 2023 season, the one where he stacked Grand Slams like others stack new balls. These elements were crushed, mixed with an epoxy resin (as in surfboards), and transformed into a custom composite. A unique material that brings to life a very special Big Bang Unico.
The obsession with featherweight
The main advantage of this watch is its remarkable lightness—it weighs just 49.5 grams for a 42 mm case, lighter than a small tennis ball at 56 grams, giving an almost weightless feel on the wrist. Every element is designed to reduce weight without sacrificing quality: the dial is fully skeletonized, the lugs are sculpted to keep only the essential structure, and the sapphire crystal is replaced with Gorilla Glass, the same lightweight, tough glass used in smartphones. The in-house movement weighs only 6.1 grams yet features a sophisticated chronograph with a double clutch and column wheel visible on the dial side. There are four strap options available—a loopless sponge-style strap, a Velcro strap with aluminum buckle, a classic white rubber strap, and a fashionable Lacoste-branded strap. As a special touch, each of the 100 limited-edition watches comes with an exclusive polo shirt from the French brand Lacoste.
Aesthetically, the watch stands out with subtle details that pay homage to tennis: a striking yellow pusher, a nod to new balls, and Novak Djokovic's signature engraved on the oscillating weight. These touches contrast with the matte blue case, enhanced by a discreet camouflage pattern. Whether viewed from the front, back, or in profile, the Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic captures attention. On the pristine white and deep green lawns of Wimbledon, it will surely not go unnoticed.
