What’s your top prediction for 2024?
2024 will be a significant year for Cyrus. At Watches and Wonders, we’re launching a brand-new ultra-high-end collection featuring interesting and innovative complications.
Are diameters increasing or decreasing?
Decreasing. The current trend for us is to reduce watch case diameters while still accommodating our highly technical manufacture movements. Of course, the decision to purchase a watch also depends on how it fits on the wrist, and many people still appreciate a larger case.
Will there be technical innovations?
As I mentioned, we’re introducing a completely new collection this year. The ancestor of this family has a very innovative movement associated with a particularly attractive aesthetic that showcases the complications.
Are the options for women expanding?
It’s possible today to find mechanical haute horlogerie in ladies’ watches. More and more women are looking for mechanical movements rather than quartz, having learned to appreciate this wonderful ancestral art over the years.
Steel, gold, ceramic, carbon... What will be the star material in 2024?
Gold. It’s a noble and universally admired material, especially in watches with grand complications.
Is sport-chic still relevant?
Absolutely, and it will continue to be so!
If 2023 was the year of the chronograph, what about 2024?
2023 was indeed the year of the chronograph. For Cyrus, it was a year for new versions of the Klepcys DICE, our innovative double independent chronograph. 2024 will be the year of the tourbillon, the queen of complications, which is greatly appreciated by enthusiasts and collectors.
Is sustainability becoming more important?
The longevity of a watch is extremely important. These items feature increasingly innovative and avant-garde mechanics – engines that drive timepieces with meticulously curated aesthetics. Precious, very high-end time instruments like these are passed down from father to son and must therefore stand the test of time.
What is one of your flagship pieces at the show?
We will have the pleasure of unveiling the new Etheral Twin Orbital Tourbillon. This timepiece has a new case and a very innovative manufacture movement. It also has an original aesthetic that aligns with the distinctive codes of our House.
