Coloseo Black Racing 2010

Two well-known drivers wore the new Coloseo Black Racing for a full-scale test during the most prestigious endurance car race in the world. Behind the wheels of two different categories, Eric van de Poele (Ferrari 430 No. 83 - Category LMGT2) and Didier Andre (Oreca AIM No. 6 - Category LMP1) put the latest Saint Honoré design through its paces on the track itself.

Between them, they have taken part in the Le Mans 24 Hours over fifteen times and both once again strove to number this classic race in their record of achievements. Didier's efforts have been rewarded this year with an incredible 4th place, well-deserved after an almost 5'000 km run. He also drove his prototype to victory in the petrol LMP1 category and finished 1st just behind the work cars.

Initiated with Paul Belmondo, racing driver and ambassador for the watch brand, the Saint Honoré saga at Le Mans 24 Hours took a new turn with, for the first time, the final tweaking of a watch under actual race conditions.

The Le Mans 24 Hours is universally acknowledged as one of the three most prestigious events in the car racing calendar, along with the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500. Commonly known as the Grand Prix of Endurance, Le Mans deals in superlatives: a race dating back to 1923, a track nearly 14 kilometres long, over fifty cars and 150 drivers on the start line, more than five thousand kilometres driven in 24 hours by the winner, an average speed of 220 km/h and maximum speeds of more than 350 km/h…

This was a chance for Saint Honoré to prove the technical qualities of its chronographs during a legendary race.

COLOSEO BLACK RACING 2010: A PRESTIGIOUS LINE!

The Coloseo Black Racing 2010 is the latest addition to the Black Racing series and got its first taste of the track on the wrists of the best drivers in the world at the 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours.

Saint Honoré ambassador Paul Belmondo helped launch this prestigious limited series in 2006, a collection inspired by the world's most celebrated automobile races.

The class of 2010 echoes the inimitable style developed in the earlier editions, particularly the stunning black case, but adds a graduated tachymetric scale from 0 to 400 km/h around the dial's circumference. Other features include a carbon dial, oversized numerals that make it supremely easy to read, a top-stitched leather strap, an engraved Black Racing back with exclusive logo, and blue hands.

But the greatest innovation on this timekeeping masterpiece is the new approach to telling time with the disc chronograph: the counters at 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock were specifically envisioned and designed to resemble a race car dashboard. The counters take the form of two arced windows where a rotating disc turns showing the small second at 3 o'clock and total minutes at 9 o'clock.

In 2010, only 240 (10x24) of these watches will be available for the most passionate motor sports enthusiasts:

-    120 pieces in stainless steel finishing
-    120 pieces in pink gold plated finishing

The Coloseo Black Racing are delivered in a special presentation case with a Limited Edition carbon plate as well as an additional strap.
