A Swiss national, Stéphane Linder was born in 1968 and holds an engineering degree from Lausanne’s EFPL. He joined TAG Heuer in 1993 and spent more than twenty years with the firm. After holding a number of strategic positions he was appointed to the board and made R&D and product director in 2003. Stéphane Linder moved on to become vice-president, marketing and product design (2007-2010) then vice-president of sales for North America (2010-2013). By the time he left, at the end of 2014, he was TAG Heuer’s President and CEO.
Stéphane Linder took over as President and CEO of Gucci’s watchmaking and jewellery division in March 2015, working out of the company's base in Cortaillod in the canton of Neuchâtel, until January 2017.
In September 2017 he was appointed chief operations officer at Breitling.
