WorldTempus sat down with Christian Wipfli, founder of Time to Watches, to discuss the 2025 fair.

1.Time to Watches is moving to a new venue. Can you tell us more?

Villa Sarasin is a unique location and moving there in 2025 is a wonderful opportunity. Not only is it a one-minute walk from Palexpo, this historic mansion provides a refined and elegant environment for our exhibitors. We can look forward to an exceptional setting and increased footfall throughout Geneva watch week. This is a winning move for us and for the brands that have chosen Time to Watches.

2. What kind of brands will we see there?

We’ll be welcoming some 60 independent brands, Swiss and international, from high-end to affordable luxury. All these brands have creativity as their common denominator and they all share what I consider to be an essential trait, and that is commitment to innovation. Time to Watches is an incubator for the finest in watchmaking today and in the future.

3. Who is your audience? Trade visitors or the public?

Both! Obviously the media, retailers and collectors are a priority but the event will be open to the public every day. We aim to give watch lovers somewhere they can view the latest timepieces by the different brands, in a relaxed setting.

4. What services are you offering the public and what will be the highlights of the week?

Each evening we’ll be hosting after-work events where the public can enjoy a drink and socialise with other watch fans in a buzzing but informal atmosphere.

5. Are you in contact with the Watches & Wonders Foundation?

We are on excellent terms with the Watches & Wonders Foundation. It’s in everyone’s interest to gather as many brands as possible into a single hub. It also means retailers and the media – who have a packed schedule – can make the most of their time in Geneva.

6. How does Time to Watches make Geneva even more attractive as a destination during watch week?

By adding to what is already a rich experience. Geneva is becoming the place to be for the watch world each spring, much like Basel once was. As one of the cradles of Swiss watchmaking, for one week each year Geneva has every reason to bring together as many industry players as possible.
