Changing status, changing stature. With its latest collection, Trilobe designs and builds. It becomes a manufacture and gains independence with a singular watch architecture obtained notably thanks to its first in house caliber. Guided tour.

For Trilobe, time is never merely measured. It is drawn, structured, conceived as a volume. With its Trente-Deux collection, the Parisian brand pushes this approach to its point of maturity. Design and proportions become more than ever the driving forces of its horological discourse. Thus, the Trente-Deux is approached as a true miniature architectural project, within which every aesthetic detail and every technical choice feed this coherent vision built since 2018.

Paris, its buildings, and literature constitute sources of inspiration for Trilobe, located on Rue de l’Opéra, between the famous Palais Garnier and Place Vendôme. It is therefore not without reason that the case of the watch asserts this formal intention.

Three founding pillars of the Trilobe house

A non-conventional reading of time: All creations signed by Trilobe abandon the classic display of time by central hands in favor of an orbital reading through rotating discs. Hours, minutes and seconds become actors in continuous motion, offering a perception that is gentle, more sensory than demonstrative.

An architectural approach to the dial: The dial is conceived as a space in depth, structured by volumes, levels, openings. The scenography of temporal information then develops into a construction highlighted by light.

A mechanics conceived as an aesthetic language: The caliber plays a predominant role, because it is never concealed. Whether it is peripheral micro-rotors, radiating bridges or textured surfaces, the movement fully participates in the identity of the watch, in a coherent logic between form and function.

Entirely redesigned for this range, the case adopts a complex construction, composed of several elements assembled with precision. The interplay of finishes, satin-brushed, polished, micro-blasted, highlights an alternation of solids and voids, of tensions and breathing spaces, recalling the vocabulary of contemporary architecture. The integrated metal bracelet extends this language with fluidity, abolishing any visual break and reinforcing the idea of an object conceived as an inseparable whole.

The dial, a founding signature of Trilobe, once again frees itself from conventions. Here, no traditional hierarchy, but an off-centered composition where the time indications gravitate around an invisible point. This non-linear display transforms the azure and guilloché surface of the watch into a true plane. The rotating discs establish a gentle and continuous narrative, the opposite of any classic instantaneous reading by means of hands.

This architectural reflection extends into the mechanics. The X Nihilo caliber, the first manufacture movement of the Parisian brand, reveals itself through the sapphire case back. Geometry plays a central role. A square bridge is fixed to the rounded main plate. In this space of great sobriety dressed in warm tones obtained through 5N gold treatment, the oscillations of the balance wheel assert themselves as the beating heart of the refined construction.

Likewise, the lines of an openworked rotor evoke a protractor. The finishes, graining and satin finishing, avoid any excessive demonstration. They favor visual coherence and the legibility of volumes, improving the dialogue between form and function.

Named Trente-Deux in reference to Trilobe’s Parisian address, the collection claims a strong cultural anchoring. Paris, a city of architecture and creation, imbues this watch with a particular sensitivity, where design prevails as much as mechanics.
