The perpetual calendar has long been a mainstay of the Patek Philippe Grand Complications, presented over the years in a number of different cases and with various types of display. The Reference 5327 gives a new look to the familiar complication with a 39mm diameter round Calatrava case with scalloped lugs.
The dial has a pearled minute track and applied gold Breguet numerals. The yellow and red-gold versions have a lacquered ivory dial with a circular finish to the counters that creates an illusion of depth. The white-gold version has a sunbrushed blue dial. Subtle details include a slightly larger date counter at 6 o’clock, for improved legibility (which also incorporates a moon phase display that is accurate to one day in 122 years) and interchangeable transparent sapphire crystal or solid gold case backs.
Reference 5327 is powered by the extra-thin Calibre 240 Q movement, which has an off-centred 22-carat gold micro-rotor for the self-winding mechanism, is fitted with Patek Philippe’s Spiromax® balance spring and bears the Patek Philippe Seal (patent CH 595 653).
