This timepiece was followed by several other models that included a range of additional complications. Then in 2012, the perpetual calendar made another appearance in the Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar, which presented the various perpetual calendar indications in the iconic Lange 1 off-center dial design. This year the perpetual calendar is back in the Lange 1, but this time without a tourbillon, so it can shine all on its own. What’s new in this timepiece is the addition of a day/night indication. “People will surely look at our new perpetual calendar and say, they forgot the day/night indication because you can’t see it on the dial”, shares A. Lange & Söhne CEO Wilhelm Schmid. “But then you realize that we used the Lange 1 moon phase indication, which gives a nice change to the dial throughout the day. In the daytime, the sky behind the moon is light blue, and when it gets dark it becomes dark blue.” The Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar is available in pink gold with a gray solid silver dial or in a limited edition of 150 pieces in white gold with a solid pink gold dial.
