Armin Strom - Harmonic Convergence

Armin Strom Harmonic Convergence

Focus on the Mirrored Force Resonance Première Edition

There was nothing easy about the fusion. On the one hand, the Mirrored Force Resonance Première Edition highlights the components enabling its two governing bodies to resonate. On the other hand, its aesthetic approach evokes Haute Horlogerie, with elegant details such as a snailed gray dial, curved and polished bridges and slender springs. Yet resonance is a terribly complex technical concept to implement. The exchange of information between two vibratory elements (in this case, two balance springs) in order to harmonize them requires a large number of conditions to be met. To facilitate this exchange, Armin Strom has connected them via a large spring, with a carefully designed and spectacular shape. This magnificent component asserts a mechanistic appearance that had to be attired with a pleasing touch of refinement. However, Armin Strom’s origins lie in the production of skeletonized movements adorned with a high level of decoration. The work on the skeletonized structures is therefore inseparable from its identity. All that had to be done was apply a formula that, although known to Armin Strom, is not easy, in order to ensure that the Mirrored Force Resonance Première Edition could exist in two aesthetic modes, as if in resonance.
