Refinement expressed in the feminine mode - Bedat & Co
Baselworld - In keeping with the vision of its founder, Simone Bédat, the company is continuing to develop its collections entirely dedicated to women, of which the keynotes are gemsetting and exquisite femininity.

“My motivation lies in creating the perfect adornment for each woman”. This fundamental motto, enunciated by Simone Bédat, has continued to guide the watch company bearing her name ever since. “This year we are offering products that are simple, direct, comfortable, practical and elegant – entirely in line with what BEDAT & Co has been doing since its early days”, says Creative Director Dino Modolo.

N°8

This sense of continuity is expressed in the N°8, first presented a decade or so ago, and which now appears endowed with a revamped design. According to Dino Modolo, the new N° 8 is “more ergonomic, more streamlined, less bulky and also more refined.” With its round cushion-framed case and integrated within the case middle, the N°8 comes in several versions. On the one hand, Ref. 838 with its bezel set with diamonds of various sizes and its iridescent mother-of-pearl dial creating multiple shimmering reflections; and on the other, Ref. 888 with its more generous 43 mm diameter and its exhibition caseback revealing the mechanical self-winding movement. Dino Modolo emphasises that “it was important to provide a fine stage-setting for our mechanisms. It is something personal intended for the wearer, but we nonetheless do not want it to be hidden.” The limited editions of ref. 838 and 888 also feature the exceptional use of black gold skeleton-working for the BEDAT & Co logo adorning the oscillating weight.

N°3

Also vividly illustrating the company’s determination to reflect its founder’s philosophy, the new N°3 is interpreted in several versions, notably including jewellery models that enrich the new Extravaganza 2013 collection. “Ref. 325 is a large 50 mm-long model with a solitaire diamond at 6 o’clock” says Dino Modolo. “Despite its large size, it makes a perfect fit on feminine wrists.” This model features a beaded mother-of-pearl dial nestling inside a tonneau-shaped case topped by two interwoven bezels. As far as Ref. 327 is concerned, Dino Modolo describes it as “a real gem of a model that is also equipped with a mechanical hand-wound movement redecorated according to the brand identity codes.” This model radiating a sense of refined elegance is also paved with meticulously calibrated trapeze-shaped baguette-cut diamonds totalling over 10 carats, and fitted with a vintage Trifari tennis-style strap connected to the case by a solitaire diamond on either side at 6 and 12 o’clock. The result is a spectacular model that certainly lives up to its name!
