Did the designers of the Cyrus Klepcys GMT Retrograde draw inspiration from unfurled peacock feathers in designing their 2020 new model ? Cyrus’ beloved three-dimensional dial architecture is composed here of a first sapphire layer revealing a skeleton plate that seems to stretch like feathers, as well as the gilded movement gears. The bright blue ring providing a retrograde dual-time display dominates the propeller-shaped small seconds counter, evoking the brand logo – and of which the luminescent part points to the seconds. The impressively large central hands ensure perfect readability. A new self-winding caliber designed by Jean-François Mojon powers this distillation of performance, all the more appreciable for being housed in a thinner cushion-shaped titanium case with a 42mm diameter that is more modest than usual for the brand. On this model, the collection’s typical two crowns at 3 and 9 o’clock are respectively dedicated to timesetting and winding for the former ; and dual-time adjustment in hourly jumps for the latter. An effective and elegant way for Cyrus to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
