Czapek & Cie, first fine watchmaking brand relaunched through crowdfunding, is starting its first subscription campaign to give 188 watch lovers the opportunity to acquire one of the 188 timekeepers of the « vintage 2016 » Quai des Bergues collection.
This subscription campaign, open until June 30th, offers the unique opportunity to reserve one’s watch from anywhere in the world : « We wanted to launch this campaign now for all the watch lovers who have been following us and our shareholders, while involving our retail partners » says Xavier de Roquemaurel enthusiastically.
The happy owners even have the luxury of choosing their lucky number, engraving it at the back of their Czapek, which they will wear starting mid-November. Each watch will be manufactured, one at a time, between July and November. After this time frame, the next series will be in 2017, except for 70 pieces already reserved for retail partners.
To own a timekeeper from the collection Quai des Bergues is, above all, to be part of a story. The story of a great watchmaker, François Czapek, who wrote the first pages of 19th century fine watchmaking with « Patek, Czapek & Cie » and owned a workshop on the Quai des Bergues in Geneva. It is also sharing the same passion for fine watchmaking with entrepreneurs and fine watches lovers. This passion enabled to bring together the greatest talents of traditional watchmaking to define this first collection : Jean-François Mojon from Chronode to develop the proprietary movement SHX1; Donzé Cadran, to create these rarest domed enamel Grand Feu dials; Les Artisans Boitiers, to design the case with an exclusive crown protection harmoniously integrated in the case’s curve; Aurélien Bouchet from AB Concept to resurrect the thinnest golden Fleur de Lys hands. The final watch is finished, assembled and encased by the house watchmaker, Sebastien Follonier, who comes from the great complications workshops of the prestigious manufactures of La-Chaux-de-Fonds.
Exclusivity does not stop here : a limited platinum series, adorned with hand engraving, is also offered. Innovation is also found in the stainless steel models, made from special XO steel, an alloy never used before in watchmaking, or the titanium models, integrating a single carbon thread coiled around to decorate the dial.
Moreover the enamel grand feu dials conceal the secret Czapek signature in the small second sub-dial. Yet the team wanted to push the personalization even further and offers the ultimate opportunity to engrave a secret phrase of choice on the enamel dials. Only a specific angle of light will enable to reveal its secret to the watchful eye.
