Lady Serenade - Glashütte Original
The new versions of the successful Lady Serenade line bring refined blacks and innocent whites to the feminine wrist.

This year Glashütte Original presents three new versions of the Lady Serenade that play with refined contrasts: the timeless contrast of light and dark, matte and polished surfaces, clear design and playful details lends these timepieces their charm and sensuality.

Two of the versions combine the eternal favourite colour of the international fashion world with a metallic brilliance: elegant, deep black dials, made with great care by the manufactory's own dial-makers in Pforzheim, enhanced with a sun-burst decoration and then coated in a galvanic bath, and black Louisiana alligator leather straps stand in elegant contrast to a finely worked case in stainless steel or warm rose gold. The date disc in the window at 6 o'clock takes up the dark tones of the dial, while the indexes take their colour cue from the case.

With the third variation, Glashütte Original presents for the first time, a Lady Serenade in a bi-colour edition. The midsection of the case in classic stainless steel is complemented by a bezel and crown in rose gold.
The dial is fashioned in fine white mother-of-pearl whose iridescent shimmer and natural textured hues make each piece unique. The filigreed gilt applique indexes are applied by hand. The watch finds the perfect finishing touch in a cream-coloured Louisiana alligator leather strap.

On all three models the curved lines of the Roman numeral hour indexes – a characteristic feature of this line – at 3, 9 and 12 o’clock present elegant reflections of the light. They are harmoniously attuned to the fine, softly curving hour and minute hands and to the slim seconds hand. The latter bears, as a counterweight, the symbol of a horizontal 8 – the mark of eternity –  at its end.  The hands of the stainless steel model are fashioned in white gold; those of the two gold versions are in rose gold, whose colour is enhanced by matching gilt applique indexes.

The functional design of the Lady Serenade's distinctive crown, also typical of the brand, makes it easy to handle; it is adorned with an elegant cabochon – an onyx with the stainless steel model and a brillant-cut diamond on the rose gold crowns. For women who wish to bring a little more glamour into their life, the three models are also available in versions whose bezels are beset with sparkling diamonds.

At the heart of the Lady Serenade beats the automatic manufactory Calibre 39-22. Its second-stop function assures that when the crown is pulled out the seconds hand comes to a halt, allowing one to set the time with great precision. A sapphire crystal case back allows one to admire the complex construction of the movement as well as its decorations: the fine stripe finish on the Glashütte three-quarter plate and the skeletonised rotor, the bevelled edges and the polished steel components. A glance at the movement reveals as well a further characteristic of the Glashütte art of watchmaking: the swan-neck fine adjustment, which enables precise regulation of the rate and whose curved lines do more than justice to this watch's lovely name.
