The new IO 42 mm embodies Hysek’s take on classical watchmaking. The IO collection comprises round, classical-style pieces, featuring traditional watchmaking’s most emblematic complications: date, moon phase, and chronograph. The new IO 42 mm model is the only one including a power reserve. This new piece now has a more contemporary feel thanks to an electric blue livery.
The sun-brushed dial has polished rhodium-plated hands and appliques that reflect the light. To make it very readable, its date display at 12 o’clock features large windows. Hours and dates are set using a single crown at 3 o’clock, enhanced with a black disc bearing a raised “H” for Hysek.
The power reserve is situated at 6 o’clock. The hand displays with a semi-circular movement the watch’s remaining power reserve over 42 hours. The 42 mm steel case showing a blend of satin and polished parts, compounds one of the brand’s hallmarks, the signature lugs, along with the distinctive presence of only the 1, 5, 7 and 11 Arabic numeral applique hour markers.
The watch is powered by an automatic movement with 22 jewels. Developed in line with traditional watchmaking style codes, including a Côtes de Genève finish and blued screws, this model benefits from a high-frequency caliber of 28’800 vibrations per hour. The new IO 42 mm Power Reserve sports a leather strap. It is available from autumn 2016.
