Re-launched at the 2018 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva, the Polaris collection brought Jaeger-LeCoultre’s expertise in diving watches back to the forefront. Four years later, it continues to grow in complexity, incorporating for the first time a perpetual calendar (of which the next manual correction will be required in 2100). Picking up the aesthetic codes of the Polaris Mariner Memovox with its graduated blue dial evoking the transition from day to night, the Polaris Perpetual Calendar not only indicates the date, day, month (as well as the year in this instance) and the moon phases in the Northern hemisphere, but it also provides information on the positions of the moon lying south of the equator, by means of a retrograde hand at 6 o’clock. Powered by the caliber specifically developed for this model, this mechanical evolution is also endowed with a longer power reserve.
