Armed with a binocular magnifying glass and ultra-fine brushes, the artisans of the Jaquet Droz Atelier d’Art bring the tiger out from the jungle, depicted against a black or ivory Grand Feu enamel background. The hairs of its fawn coat are individually painted, making each of the 28 timepieces in each series truly unique. Its expression is bewitching, its eyes piercing. Focusing attention like any successful artwork, the miniature painting appears omnipresent, even though it occupies less than half of the clearly legible dial.
