Time of the tiger - Jaquet Droz
Petite Heure Minute Tiger double limited series

It is literally impossible to escape its gaze, nor, for that matter, to avoid staring at it. The highly distinctive Jaquet Droz dials both attract and appeal, generally by their uncluttered purity, and sometimes on the contrary by the breathtaking sight of the craftsmanship they embody. The Petite Heure Tiger double limited series succeeds on both counts. Armed with a binocular magnifying glass and ultra-fine brushes, the artisans of the Jaquet Droz Atelier d’Art bring the tiger out from the jungle, depicted against a black or ivory Grand Feu enamel background. The hairs of its fawn coat are individually painted, making each of the 28 timepieces in each series truly unique. Its expression is bewitching, its eyes piercing. Focusing attention like any successful artwork, the miniature painting appears omnipresent, even though it occupies less than half of the clearly legible dial. It is up to the owner to decide whether it is a tiger or a tigress, since that is entirely a matter of taste – and this watch is all about a taste for wild, untamed Nature.
