Omega Warming up for the Olympic Games

As Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932, Omega is ready for the starting pistol with a brand new Seamaster Diver 300M Tokyo 2020

The history of Omega and the Olympics goes back to 1932 when the brand first became the official timekeeper of the world’s most famous sporting event, expertly timing over 11,000 athletes, taking part in 50 different disciplines, every four years.

Initially planned for 2020, the Tokyo Olympics was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic. After many deliberations, the organizers have decided to hold the event this July with all the appropriate restrictions, of course. To celebrate the occasion, Omega has unveiled its brand-new Seamaster Diver 300M Tokyo 2020 sporting the colours of the Olympic Games emblem in white and blue.

Powered by the brand’s Co-Axial Chronometre Calibre 8800 with its impressive magnetic resistance to 15,000 gauss and certification by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), the Seamaster Diver 300M Tokyo 2020 is a serious piece of athletic kit! It comes in a 42mm stainless steel case with an integrated steel bracelet and a blue ceramic bezel with white enamel markings.

The dial is crafted from white ceramic and has been laser-engraved with a wave motif that adds extra depth to the face of the watch. Other details include blued hands and indexes that are enhanced with white Super-LumiNova, the famous Seamaster name in red, and a date at six o’clock.

Fans of the Olympics will also be pleased to learn that this tribute timepiece includes a sapphire crystal caseback featuring a transfer of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games logo and a special Olympic Games presentation box.

For those of you who appreciate quirky facts, the name of this Seamaster Diver 300M Tokyo 2020, marks the original date of the Olympics and not the actual date, a little detail that could possibly become a selling point at a post-pandemic auction in the future!
