On a day dedicated to women, we couldn’t leave out this collection – specially designed for independent women.
The Possession watch by Piaget is inspired by the jewellery range of the same name created in 1990. Originally, it was a ring with a highly unusual design. The inner ring had a second ring over the top that could turn freely, providing its lucky owner with a playful tactile experience. The rotating ring was re-imagined for a new watch collection, unveiled in 2018. The timepiece features a rotating bezel, which gives it its unique identity. The freely turning bezel is like the woman who wears it: liberated and independent.
Presented by ambassador Olivia Palermo, with whom the brand has worked for some time now, the Possession offers great creative freedom in terms of colours, materials, textures and jewellery setting. The models in rose gold, white gold and steel with a sunburst silvery dial are available with or without diamonds, and come with a wide variety of coloured straps, in red, green, turquoise, black and lapis blue. The minerals for which the brand is known are also part of the collection, which features pink gold and diamond models with dials in lapis lazuli, malachite, cornelian and turquoise.
At the SIHH 2019, rather than minerals and kaleidoscopic colours, we were presented with one new colour, framed in dazzling diamonds. The new cherry red watches look good enough to eat.
Bold…
The first version comes in an 18K rose gold case, which is available in diameters of 29 mm or 34 mm to suit every wrist. The iconic rotating bezel is fully set with brilliant-cut diamonds, 42 of them for the smaller model and 46 for the large. The deep cerise dial shimmers, thanks to its sunburst finish and the 11 diamond dot indices. The Piaget logo at 3 o’clock almost seems to be squeezing itself to one side, so as not to interrupt the view of the dial. Driven by a quartz 56P manufacture movement, the watch comes with a cherry red alligator strap, complete with a gold-plated pin buckle set with a solitaire diamond. In the interests of versatility, the watchmaker provides a second alligator strap with each watch.
Flamboyant…
The second version is more ornate than the first, and comes in an 18K white gold case, also available in a choice of 29 or 34 mm diameters. The silvery lustre of the precious metal provides the perfect backdrop to the diamond-paved dial (142 diamonds in the smaller version and 239 for the larger), topped with a diamond-set rotating bezel. Under the carpet of diamonds beats the quartz 56P manufacture movement. A cherry-red alligator strap adds a pop of warm colour to this dazzling timepiece.
Or utterly extravagant!
The third and final version belongs in the High Jewellery category. Smothered in diamonds from the dial (142 diamonds) to the bracelet (317 diamonds), plus the case (162 diamonds) and bezel, this 18K white gold model, available in the 29 mm diameter only, is a stunning creation that is unlikely to slip under anyone’s radar. This time, the cerise livery is discarded in favour of a glittering bracelet that is astonishingly light and supple. Its articulated structure perfectly hugs the curves of the wrist, ensuring the utmost comfort for its wearer.
The Possession watch is the cherry on the cake of any outfit, and will add a dash of colour and glamour to your look.
