Focus on the RM 029 Automatic Winding Le Mans Classic

Richard Mille has been a partner of the Le Mans Classic since its creation in 2002 and is celebrating this 20th anniversary with a timepiece in the colors of the legendary car race: the RM 029 Automatic Winding Le Mans Classic. The Manufacture has been working with North Thin Ply Technology® (NTPT®) since 2013 – when it released the RM 011 Carbon NTPT® – and is continuing its collaboration, but with another material: quartz. While similar to the production of Carbon NTPT®, that of Quartz TPT® differs, by the use of silica fibers. Although the watchmaking company has already resorted to this type of material, which provides greater durability and resistance to heat, it is not resting on its laurels. The RM 029 Automatic Winding Le Mans Classic is “living” proof of this, since Richard Mille is offering its first ever bezel made in two quartz colors: green TPT® quartz inlaid with strips of white TPT® quartz. This technical challenge was made possible by the structure of the material resulting from the TPT® manufacturing process.
