From the depths of the ocean to the race track, “bold and sporty” is the common denominator in this year’s TAG Heuer line-up

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Pro 200 Solargraph

This time last year, we were looking at the new Aquaracer design upgrade, while this year the brand is adding a host of new technical and design features that take the Aquaracer collection to a whole new level. Kicking off the innovation side is the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Pro 200 Solargraph that is powered by the sun. The Cailbre TH50-00 was developed and produced by La Joux-Perret, using the renowned and proven “Eco-Drive” solar dial technology for the first time in Switzerland. It takes only two minutes of full sunlight to power the watch for a whole day and 20 hours of sunlight will keep it running for over six months!

On the aesthetic side, the timepiece comes in black DLC-coated stainless steel with a bezel insert made of a blend of carbon and green Super-LumiNova, that was not only designed to glow in the dark but also to resemble the veins and ridges in natural rock.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Pro 300 Orange Diver

Following on from the new Aquaracer Pro 300 unveiled last year, the brand is now presenting a new version with a bright tangerine-coloured dial. Orange is one of the first colours we see in the rainbow and the reason why it is used for things like traffic cones and NASA spacesuits. It is also highly visible in the water, making it particularly appealing to divers. The colour has made several appearances in TAG Heuer’s diving world over the years, and it is great to see it back in the collection for 2022.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver

Like the Aquaracers above, this luxury diving watch with a water resistance of 1000 meters was reimagined last year and returns for 2022 with a brand-new Kenissi Manufacture Calibre TH30-00 produced exclusively for TAG Heuer that was chosen for its reliability and durability. There is something extremely pleasing to the eye with this piece that has very strong indexes, markings and hands that just pop on the dial, making it both highly legible and particularly handsome.

The Carrera X Porsche Limited Edition

Moving on to the TAG Heuer Carrera now and the watch brand’s collaboration with Porsche, this new limited edition in black and yellow marks chapter two in the partnership between the watchmaker and carmaker that began in February 2021. TAG Heuer’s CEO Frédéric Arnault explains: “It seemed natural to continue to weave the thread of our co-creation through the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph but with a completely new approach. For this new limited edition, we wanted to emphasize the racing side of the sporty Porsche Carrera. Our teams, in partnership with Porsche, have combined their expertise and creativity to create a timepiece with a powerful design and a bold, sporty look.”

The Monaco Gulf Special Edition

Staying in the racing mood, let’s take a look at the Monaco Gulf, a co-creation made with the brand’s partner Gulf that features the legendary shades of orange and turquoise that make the Monaco Gulf instantly recognizable. This version has a number of updated features including a new in-house movement – the Heuer 02 – a premier for the Monaco Gulf edition. It is also the first time that the three colours are present on the minute subdial at three o’clock. For those who like the details, this is also the first time the Gulf logo has appeared in white and the 12 o’clock index has been replaced by the number 60 as a nod to the racing number of the Porsche Gulf racing cars.

TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma

Last but not least, is the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma. This innovative timepiece highlights the avant-garde side of the brand with the arrival of lab-grown diamonds. Using a special technology, mastered in collaboration with different partners, TAG Heuer has been able to experiment with different diamond shapes and textures. In this new timepiece, the brand features lab-grown diamonds on the case and indexes, but also on the crown, that is made from one whole diamond. But that is not all, the dial is made of polycrystalline diamonds that bring an unusual sparkly effect. The watch is powered by the brand’s H02 Tourbillon Nanograph movement that uses TAG Heuer’s carbon hairspring, another nod to the beauty of diamonds.
