Two centuries late.

Selected among the finalists of the 2016 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in the Men’s Watch category, Reference 2340 from the Jules collection does not reveal its entire nature at first glance, even through the numerals immediately put it in a league of its own. Clearly positioned at the peak of the watchmaking pyramid, the brand with Danish origins proudly flaunts an atelier-based approach to horology. Exactly like that practiced by the circle of renowned watchmakers to which the founder belonged over two centuries ago. An entire day to polish a single movement wheel, or 20 operations to craft a hand-blued and polished/satin-brushed moon-phase disk with gold moon and stars. As complex as Grand Feu enameling, the ancestral process of ‘grenage’ (graining) applied to its solid silver dial, as described by its CEO Sören Petersen. This traditional technique combining manual dexterity and electrochemical expertise makes each dial truly unique. The equally finely hand-crafted blued steel and gold polished hands blithely obey the dictates of the in-house caliber. The principle of “taking time for time” has rarely been so meaningful.
